My gnome screwed up pretty bad. fsck did not help. How do I reinstall it? kde seemed ok.

Not sure if Lin has this(yet lol), but I wonder if there is a "add/remove programs"

If so, maybe even a check mark to signify installed or not?

And if so... UNCHECK IT, reboot then RECHECK IT ;)

Scuse me fer sounding NEWBIEISH, it's the vulcan blood lol

First, try to recover. mv your .gnome dirs to some other name and try to restart it. This will force it into factory defaults. Then, cp stuff out of the renamed .gnome as you can to recover your setups. OK, that's no help? IF you are RPM based, remove the rpm and re-install from fresh rpm's. Helix makes this really easy, as there's a wizard for the purpose.
