Trouble... in Mandrake I can't go above 8 by 6 or screen goes blank. I know my screen kin handle 1024 in 16 bit...

I have ATI Rage Fury 32 meg
and a 1024 capable 15" monitor

Make sure you gots the Properdriver ..... Make sure Monitor is Correct .. Read your monitor book and set the Hertz stuff manually if ya gotta .. There is no Generic anything in Linux ..... from Prompt : Xconfigurator ......... is your greatest friend ........

Thanks, but I have no manual fer the monitor :( Maybe you guys could help me with this one... I was told it was a "PIXIE" brand??? Is a 15" monitor, I know it kin handle 1024 in 24 bit, but thas in Windoze lol

Any idea where I might find what brand it REALLY is? I have searched for that name, but haven't found anything "constructive" :P

check the back of the monitor for a silver (maybe) sticker that has a serial number model ect. ect. this can be used to search and identify your monitor 0n the 'net ... plus it should say somewhere on it what brand it is .... good luck man ... you'll need it
