I had never seen the site but I had read about it lots of times. So I finally wanted to see it...
As Firefox was loading the page, I got scared, and instictly moved the mouse to the back button... but I stopped. It's just a frigging site I tought.

But darn for me the colors look like hell, and it shows too much info at once. I don't know where to start to explore...
Anybody feels like distrowatch should change it's design?

I agree that the colors aren't the greatest, but then I have no artistic sense whatsoever, so I always use the same basic color scheme for my pages:)

As for too much information, I think that if you stick to the site navigation links that are right under the logo you'll probably be able to find what you're looking for. A lot of the other stuff on the home page really isn't necessary, but it does provide a lot of good information if that's what you're looking for. There's somewhat of a tradeoff going on, they provide a lot of info but it's also easy to get lost, especially your first visit there.

My 2 cents.

Actually I think the more information the better, but the problem is that it shows too much at once ;)

Actually I hit ctrl and + twice and that made it a whole lot better for me. Even tought I hate when I have to scroll to the left or right :p
