Hi,
I just did a fresh install of RH 6.2 and everything's working fine except for my cdrom. When I type mount /mnt/cdrom I get this message: "mount: no medium found". Any ideas? First time I've seen this one.
thanks
should be mount /dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
it has to have a `place` to mount to
no medium found might be because its in a strange format, try another cd, try the rh cd

Well I know what the problem is. It's not my setup but rather just my crappy cdrom drive. I rebooted a few times and then I was able to mount it. I remember having problems with it in windows as well. My cdrom drive acts up a lot and won't read disks most of the time. Also it often won't eject when you press the eject button.
I should turn this into a 'recommendations needed for cdrom/cdr' thread instead.
plextor makes a good cdburner, i should have waited instead of getting an hp one, also there is a sony coming out I think that is supposed to eliminate coaster burns, probably by using a giganticus buffer, and it burns at like 12x sweeeet

i agree with the i should haves
i bought my HP 9310 last fall. i had not really shopped much for one. then i saw this one on sale for 200. so i grabbed it quicklike. then i started doing some deep research. and well i should have waited and i should have spent some more $$ and got a plextor. i so like that burnproof. not that i have made more than 10 coasters out of about 300 burns. but the fact that you can use your puter while burning and not get concerned about making a coaster puts a mind at ease.
so when my HP dies or is close then i am gonna look into them before i go and buy the first one i see.
