New kernel doesn't print!

With kernel 2.2.16 that came with Slackware 7.1, my printing works fine. However, when I use kernel 2.4.2, nothing prints. I compiled in support for parallel port and parallel port printers, but it doesn't work. When I try printing, absolutely nothing happens! Did I misconfigure the kernel?

Have you loaded the modules?Or did you compile printer support into kernel?See your system logs for any info related to probing/loading of your printer (dmesg | less for one).Hope this helps.
