ok heres a look at 3 redhat or fedora based distros. These distros are very easy for noobs ( like myself) and are packed with features.

the main reason i tend to stick with redhat/fedora based installs is the installing process is simple, plus the formatting/partitioning is in a plain english gui, that even I can understand.

in no particular order

BLAG http://www.blagblagblag.org/

a redhat 9 based distro, its kinda outdated but it comes with more Window mangers by default( EPIwm,Blackbox, Gnome, icewm) so u can find what you like. Also comes with mplayer preinstalled and preconfiged, for a noob mplayer can be a pain in the neck.

lorma linux http://linux.lorma.edu/

a solid 1 cd distro, based of fedora core 1, has all kinda of built in goodies, Mplayer, K3B, Synaptic,Wine, mozilla 1.5-1.

Bayanihan Linux http://www.bayanihan.gov.ph/

another 1 cd based distro, its very simialr to lorma linux, pretty much the same features, plus NTFS support, Mozilla Firefox and Konqueror, and its also based in the Philippines.

now i get most of my distro based reviews from either
distrowatch (http://www.distrowatch.com) OR OSnews (http://www.osnews.com) . But Keep in mind they only real way to see if you like a distro is by installing it and messing around with things, breaking things, and then fixing them.

if you know anymore readhat/fedra based distros that are easy for people new to linux please let me know, i'm un-offical linux guy in my circle of friends and they look for my opinion on these things.
