I just recently installed a version of Redhat 8.0, and all of the kde themes are telling me "Theme does not contain a .themerc nor .theme file' This just off a fresh install, so then I update redhat to its fullest but it's still the same.

I'm clueless as to what, I should probably go use gnome, at least its themes work ;\

Anyone have any idea, I search google but I find nothing, I'm sure I'm not the only one with the problem though

Are you leaving the theme as a tar.gz file or extracting it? When installing themes you can point straight to the tar.gz file.

I'm not unzipping anything, like I SAID... The default themes are doing this even on a new install.. I havent even attempted to add new ones..

Since you are receiving that message for all themes, it could be you are missing a required KDE package that has to do with themes.

Have you checked the main KDE site to see if they have anything on theme requirements?

Yeah, I found nothing, and even after updating kde, still the same..

I think maybe the themes and .themerc .theme are misplaced and looking in the wrong spots for each other?

I think I Can do without themes though I rarely use the gui
