broken mbr

basically i've deleted lilo and i need to get it back. i can boot from the slackware CDs. what could i do to get linux to boot again?

I'm not at home so this is just a rough sketch, but boot as if an install and when your install menu comes up choose Configuration/post-install...if you'll scroll down on the menu it takes you to you will see the selection for installing lilo. You could also mount your root partition from the boot prompt and run /sbin/lilo or see "man lilo" for the various configuration choices.

its weird, it wont let me choose configuration.. cant seem to find the installation. everythings there though. anything else?

sorry, i didnt note the other part of your post earlier. i have mounted the partition and can get at lilo. unfortunatley after running lilo -M /dev/hdd2 or any other device it says: Fatal: /dev/hdd2 is not a master device with a primary partition table. i need some help at this point :confused:

Try using liloconfig.
