I just upgraded my laptop to kernel 2.6.2 to try to get suspend-to-RAM working. My hardware doesn't support the normal S1 suspend mode, and S3 didn't do a thing under the 2.4 kernels.
Anyway, it suspends OK; I get a glimpse of various power management-related messages and the words "Power down" before the display goes blank. The power indicator blinks like it's supposed to. So far, so good.
However, when I hit the power button to resume, the fan comes on and the drives spin up for about half a second, then the power completely dies. When I turn the power back on, it reboots just as if I did a full power off without shutting down.
My laptop is an HP Pavilion ze4325 with an ATI Radeon IGP 320 video card (running in framebuffer mode). I have searched JL and G4L endlessly. Please help! :(
EDIT: I forgot to mention, I can only suspend using "echo 3 > /proc/acpi/sleep", the old interface. Running "echo mem > /sys/power/state" does nothing.
