I can't seem to print a test page from my CUPS configuration page and I also can't seem to connect to the printer from other boxes, a FC2-Test1 box (no it's not b/c it's a beta release) and a Windows XP box. I have everything I need to be enabled to include browsing under samba and cups (smb.conf and cupsd.conf). I keep getting the following error(s):

"Unable to get printer status (client-error-forbidden)!" (I get this when I try to print a test page from remote ones)

"Forbidden: You don't have permission to access this resource on this server." (I get this error when I try to print a test page from the local machine.)

I think it has to do with my firewall??? or possibly the conf files??? Even though I have all required ports open for Samba and Cups. Any ideas b/c I am going crazy trying to figure this one out. I can however print from the local machine, just not test pages.

can you post some of your config?

type of printer? how is it connected? to what machine? Post your smb.conf?

Have you tried shutting off your firewall and testing the printing?

I am not clear as to which way you are trying to print with out more info
