Salutations all

I have recently upgraded my Slack9.0 to 9.1 and in the process of doing also upgraded OpenOffice.org1.0 to 1.1 with one annoying side-effect: I seem to have lost the ability to print anything from OO.o although can do so quite easily with every other application that prints. Going through the help files, etc I found out how to add a printer but it asks for a command line argument for the printer. I am using an Epson Stylus C44UX as a USB. I tried a number of options but all to no avail, including: lpr ; lpr -Plp ; lp0 ; and so on.
Can someone let me know what the damned command is please. I've searched Google, but to be honest not being sure how to phrase the parameters makes searching quite difficult.

Appreciate any light shone on this.

PS :: do we really need a Linux site bombarding us with Microsoft adverts citing a report that is somewhat dubious in its claims? Or is a matter of income security?

That question has been asked and answered many times in /dev/random. Do a forum search for 'ads' and you will find out why. Look for the explaination from Brian Proffitt.

on mine, lpr works. it should not matter if it is usb printer or not.

Thanks Hayl

I've tried a number of different attempts to connect, including "lpr" as well ... as I stated in my previous post.

This is the error message I get ... even though the printer does work with every other printing application except for OO.o1.1.
I'm stuck :(

Have you tried CUPS? That works for me with an Epson Stylus C60 connected via usb. I never had a problem with OO.o1.1, just selected the default printer. I use the gimp-print driver and configured it using the web interface.
