Last night I installed Linux Mandrake 9.2, installed all options since this is my first time ever using something other then windows. During the installation it asked me to create a swap partition as well as one with the lunx file system. I made the swap partition 1 GIG and the linux partition 14 GIGS. My question is now that the installation is done can i delete the swap partition and resize one of the other ones or is the swap partition need for any particualr reason.....

if the partition you want to resize is ext2/3 then yes there is a way.

1 GB is a little large.

if you have 256 MB or ore of RAM then i'd say go for 500 MB or even 256 MB swap partition.

the double your RAM to calculate swap size theory breaks down afer 256 MB RAM.

anyway... there are posts on how to resize that already exist here on this board if you search.
