This seems to be the way that a lot of people go with Linux.
-First you get a version of Linux like Mandrake. Every single task that you do is done from the desktop.
-Second, you figure out that the desktop is not the best place to do business. You do more and more stuff at the command line.
-Third, you have two or three different sessions going none of which are X.
-Fourth, you think maybe you don't really need that nice pretty little desktop.
-Fifth, you decide that maybe that 'beginner' version of Linux is not the one for you.
-Sixth, you decide to install Slack on your system.
-Seventh, you forget how to use a mouse but become a much better typist.
-Eighth, your eye is drawn more and more to penguins. There are, of course, a couple of stuffed ones around your computer.
Ninth, you have reached Nerdvana.
