Hello,

My network is setup as such:

192.168.0.1 -> master box that shares the net, dhcp server, has samba running (works fine)

which is connected to a switch, where one of the switch ports goes to a hub, that in turn has two PCs on it.

Of these two last PCs, one is a linux box that also has samba running and belongs to the same workgroup etc in the samba config as the rest of the machines.

When I access network neighborhood to see which PCs are available from the other windows machines however, I can see the 192.168.0.1 machine no problems - this one has always worked fine - however - the new Linux box on the second hub doesn't appear (ip address 192.168.0.8).

How do I configure things so that the new box appears in the network neighborhood also?

Thanks!
Alex

Can you successfully ping each of these boxes via ip address or hostname?

Maybe post the Samba config for the two boxes so someone can have a look. Knowing your distro/version may also help a JL member in assisting you.
