Knoppix on my new laptop!

Hey all,

I just wanted to take some time to give a little bit of praise to Knoppix v3.3. I bought a new laptop today installed Windows XP Pro, then did a knoppix harddrive install and it went flawlessly! After reading all the problems people have had installing linux on laptops with autodetection, it was a pleasant surprise to say the least. Happily set it up on my network no problems. Even better than Mepis and Morphix installs. I'm about to go post something similar on the Knoppix forums, but figured I would take a second to gloat over here first :D Have a good one

You failed to mention which laptop (Maker & model), it might help people looking for Linux help on that ;)

Ohhhh now I see your game you rogue....you're going to implicate me so that I have to help people! :D Anyway, the specs on my new laptop are:

eMachines M5309 Notebook
15.4" widescreen display
AMD Athlon XP 2500+ processor
512 MB DDR RAM
DVD/CD-RW combo drive
Radeon IGP 64 MB Video card

Naw, just nice to know what works with what :)

Same thing applies for if Gentoo wouldnt' compile on a Dell Inspiron 8000 (I'm sure it does, I've never tried, but you get the point ;))
