How do I configure a printer on the network (as in through ethernet.)

you can use CUPS or LPRNG

both have documentation available on their respective web sites (google for them www.google.com/linux).

in addition ther are already many threads on how to set up printers if you search the forums.

I just use the Printer Configuration module in Webmin in order to setup and configuration the Lexmark network printers at the office. I select the correct model, specify the ip address and it works everytime.
