Hi,

I have a little problem with Remote Desktopping from my linux to box to my windows box.

On the windows box remote desktop is set up and working (it can be access from another windows box). However, when i type it's ip into the linux client, it spits back at me "No server running at the given address"

Any ideas what could be causing it? I dont really have any form of firewall running - but if i did, how could i find out if it was blocking the connection?

Is this VNC? What command are you using on the client?

not entirely sure what it is!

It's whatever the "remote access" thing is in windows. I don't think it's vnc. in linux i load an app called "Remote Desktop" and it has the same icon as in windows.

When you click on remote desktop, does it pop a window asking for the IP address? If so, then it is likely VNC. Try entering
IP:0

If not, how do you specify the IP? If you right click on the icon, properties, what executable does it point to? Barring that, which distro? Where is it under the 'start' menu?
