Hopefully this isn't a 'which distro?'-type flamebait question.

I'm going to install rh 6.2, ximian gnome, and eazel this weekend.

I'm a bit confused though with all this talk about updaters. From what I understand, the debian folks have had an 'updater from heaven' from the get-go. fine.

What about me? There was news today or yesterday that redhat is going to be charging $10/month for its updater. Is that the one that I'll need as a new rh user?
What about Ximian Red Carpet? When I read about that, it sounds to me like all I'll need. Same thing? Different thing? Same thing but better?
Answered that? Thanks, but now what about eazel... I thought a wonder-updater was part of eazel services, and part of the reason to switch to eazel. Same thing? Different thing? Same thing but better?

Do I subscribe to one, two, or three of these? Are they all the same? Am I an idiot for not -getting- it?

I use Red Carpet and I have no complaints so far.

I use apt-get and have even less complaints. ;)

Thanks. I definitely get the impression that the debian folks like their apt-get.

Red Carpet sounds great for me, though.

What is the difference between all these anyways? Is it just three different versions of the same thing?

Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against choice. I'm just not clear if these are replacements for each other or if they do the same thing.
