Does anyone know of an open source IFS? Been trying to use Oracle's on Red Hat 7.1 and ran into install conflicts. Oracle will only support SuSe 7.1 or 7.2.

I think Red Hat has a special distrib if you want to use Oracle.

Or just use Suse.

There is no opensource IFS, it's an oracle thing.

Which version of Oracle are you tring to install? If it's 9i you need to downgrade your binutils package to this version (ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/7.0/en/os/i386/RedHat/RPMS/binutils-2.10.0.18-1.i386.rpm).

force the install like this:

rpm -Uvh --force --nodeps binutils-2.10.0.18-1.i386.rpm
