if it means I get to join this: Church of the Subgenius (http://www.subgenius.com/) , How come I never found this when I was using Slackware? Does that mean I am overqualified- a Genius; or underqualified- a sub-sub-genius? Bon Bon says I am EXTREMELY underqualified and if I don't quit messing with his chickens, he's going to make me into slackware.

Once a Slacker...always a Slacker?

Haha, you never knew about it? I think that is where Slackware actually got its name. I have been using slackware for a while and it is a lot easier than it is made out to be.

It's easy because it's so KISS simple. It's hard because it's so KISS simple.
Gotta love that.

Hard candy, you left slackware? What were you thinking. Guess everyone is subject to moments of temporary insanity.
Come on back. As slackers we are a forgiving bunch.

we are the slackborg
resistance is futile
:D
I like Slack so much I am going to be removing my Mandrake installation in the next week or two and running Windows 2000 for my family to use and Slack 9.1 for me!
Since I have used Slack, there is no looking back and I have learnt more from installing and using it than any other flavour of LInux I have tried (and believe me, I have about 40 different distros that I have tried in the last 3 years!!)

Hey HC, I wondered why you ain't been on the MEPIS forums much lately. Now I see why!! For SHAME!
Well, actually I find myself using Slackware more and more (again). Don't get me wrong, I still like MEPIS and I think the next release will be more to my liking, if Warren can pull it off with the time frames that he allows himself.
For now Slackware-Current with the 2.4.25 kernel and working on 2.6.3, I've actually gotten it to boot and I'm just doing some tweaking to get rid of any extry stuff I don't need.
Later,
