Hi all,

I just installed SuSE 7.2 and I'm having problems launching emacs from a terminal window. Following is the error that I receive:

root@suse1:/home/chad > emacs /etc/fstab
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: Client is not authorized to connect to Server
emacs: Cannot connect to X server :0.0.
Check the DISPLAY environment variable or use `-d'.
Also use the `xhost' program to verify that it is set to permit
connections from your machine.

Thanks for any help you can give.

You have to add permission for your client to use your xserver. The command your after is xhost.
