Hello.

I am going to be installing a Linux Distro on my PC next to my Win2k system. I am trying to make a list of the applications that I use regularly in Windows, and map out a Linux alternative. I have most things covered, but there are a few I could use some ideas on:

MS Project (Project Management)

Visio (with templates)

Organizer
Contacts
Calendar
ToDo

Palm Backup / Sync (with organizer

Flash Development

CD Burning

Anti-Virus

Thank you for your help.

Well I have to suggest a search on this one. There is a list of windows to linux apps on the web and I know the link has been posted several times in threads here.

That list will cover just about everything on your list. I am not sure about project management though.

Flash development is another story. You will have to either get flash mx going through wine or code weavers crossover office. There is no linux port of flash for Linux. Again do a search here as I know I have seen threads on getting flash going in wine.

Anti-virus, well there are programs out there, but as you are loading linux you will be getting rid of the biggest virus of all *windows*:D

Yesterday I posted a few Linux software sites in this thread (http://justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=122291) which should help you find the software you require.
