Hi,

I recently tried to install mandrake linux 7.2 on my AMD Duron system (ASUS A7V motherboard). After inserting the mandrake cd in and restarting the system, the installation process could not find my hard drive. I suspect it is due to the ATA100 configuration. Is there a way for me to install a driver to get it to detect my drive? Is this problem supposed to be fixed with version 8.0? Is there another distribution that will automatically detect my drive?

Thanks

I seem to remember reading in another post here recently that Mandrake has documentation on their website on the ATA66/100.

Also the NHF http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel/hardware/udma66.html should also work for the ATA100 and the one I used for my ATA100 is here http://linux.nf/stepbystep.htm
