I was just browsing the Linux Documentation Project <www.linuxdoc.org> for the Kernel-HOWTO and noticed that it uses kernel version 2.2.9 as the example kernel. This will be my first official kernel upgrade and I'm wondering if this is too oudate for the 2.4.x kernel? Where might I find an updated version of this file or some other documentation that might help a newbie?

I'm running debian potato and I believe that it has 2.2.18pre...?

Thanks

type in apt-get dist-upgrade (i think) to upgrade it for you if you have connection to the net.
