Dear LNO people,
I am using Red Hat 6.2 with XFree86 3.3.6 preinstalled. I am going to try to install XFree86 4.0.3 from tarballs. I do not like to use RPMS because X might not work. How do I go about it?
Should I download the complete 4.0.3 precompiled binaries then use the guidelines in the Updating XFree NHF to go on? Any recommendations?
Thanks.

XFree86 has a great installation script to use. there are installation instructions on their web page that anyone can follow. i always use the rpms for x, and always worked fine, but i did use the sh script they have once.
