In Windows I have a constant connection with minimal disconnects, but now that I'm starting to use Linux, I'm disconnected a lot, anybody have any ideas on how to stop this?

BTW, it doesn't matter if I'm idle or not.

Okay, I use Mandrake 7.2 with a dial-up connection to a local ISP. I have a 56k 3COM Performance Pro PCI, using setserial to get it workin... The tech support said that the OS was the problem... LOL... because they used windows, so the ISP is a windows based servic provider... to bad computers communicate through a common protocol eh?
