I recently installed Linux-Mandrake on my pc. It detected my sound card fine and says I have an ESS ES1868 PnP AudioDrive, but when I clicked "run configuration tool" that workes fine until I click ok and then it pops up with the following:
/lib/modules/2.2.17-21mdk/misc/sb.o:init_module: Device or resource busy
/lib/modules/2.2.17-21mdk/misc/sb.o:insmod /lib/modules/2.2.17-21mdk/misc/sb.o Failed
/lib/modules/2.2.17-21mdk/misc/sb.o:insmod sound-slot-0 Failed

I'm fairly new at this and have no idea what any of this means so any help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried running "soundconfig" from the prompt? Pretty sure you hafta be root also.

Good luck

Try running "soundrake" as root.
