Hard drive

I just got a Dell 4600. Its a p4 2.8 ghz with 512 ddr and Sata 120gig hdd. Plus I put in a 20 wd hard drive Ide.So When I install Suse 8.2 it see IDE but not the Sata hard drive. I'm trying to use grub as the boot loader. O the Dell 4600 as Windows xp home on it. I'm doing same install that I did with my old p4 1.4 ghz with 2 ide hard drives and it saw both hdd fine.

Some how its not seeing Sata hdd help me please.

Does SuSE 8.2 natively support SATA drives without needing to first enable something in the kernel and recompile?

Checked the SuSE 8.2 HCL??

SuSE 9.0 might be a better bet.

Always check the distros/versions HCL (hardware compatibility list) first.
