Web problem

I am having a particularly anoying problem with some sites that i try to access.Whenever i try to contacet them with mozilla i am told " The connection was refuse when trying to contact .....". It mostly seems to be sites that require passwords to enter like hotmail. Could this be a problem with my firewall? I know that when installing rehat 7 i just left the firewall setting as dfault. Any ideas?

I think it's probably because the version of mozilla you are using doesn't have ssl support which means that you can't connect to those sites.

causes problems with sites like hotmail and most online retailers.

I believe the latest version of mozilla has ssl support

SSL = Secure Socket Layer.

It basically encrypts your data to and from that web site so other people can not read it.
