SD my sony cdrw is fine scanez 10-13-2001, 12:54 AM Is it mounted? If a cdrom, cdrw, or dvdrom drive is mounted it will not eject until it is umounted. Just checking SC Dark Ninja 10-13-2001, 01:09 AM It's a bug in 8.1. I'm not exactly sure what is happening, but, from what I have been able to determine is that, if you insert a CD/DVD or whatever into your drive, and then try to eject it, Mandrake 'remounts' the drive to a different place. PLEASE NOTE BEFORE I CONTINUE: I really don't know the exact problem - this is just a conjecture of what appears to be happening. Anyway, if you go under Mandrake's ControlCenter, you can find what the device is, and you will be able to eject your DVD drive by typing (in the command prompt): eject /dev/NAME where NAME is the device name. (scd0 in my case) Please note that your drive must be mounted in the first place in order for this to work. However, if you are using Mandrake 8.1, it probably already is. Dark Ninja justlinux.com
