CD halp

how can i get my CD burner and my CD reader to come up on RH9 i cant find /dev/cdrom and its getting me worried cuz my sound was the prob b4 but now its my CD stuff can ne1 help me?????

are you trying to burn a cd or just access files on it?

to access files on cd for RH9/Fedora Core 1
right click the desktop
move pointer to the selection disk
then click on the cdrom or cdrom0 to mount and access the files
to listen to music
insert disk
then run xmms or cdplayer.
