Hello, this is my first post. I am trying to set up a dual boot system, with Win98 and Redhat 7.0. unfortunately the install tells me that it cannot find any hardware. I guess that it is not reading or finding my HD. Now I just built this system. Could it be that redhat does not have the drivers available? Also I have a 40gb ata 100 HD, does Redhat have a prblem with recogonizing the ata100? As I stated I am a newbie.. all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks :)

Your right Redhat doesn't see the hard drive controller. I had the same problem, what I had to do was plug the hard drive onto the onboard controller (assuming Redhat knows what it is), install Red Hat, grabbed the 2.4.3 kernel, and configured (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel/compiling/kernel2.4upgrade.html)it.

Thanks for the advice Inctoan. I will try that and see what happens.

The NHF on Ultra66 (http://www.linuxnewbie.org/nhf/intel/hardware/udma66.html) will also work for ATA100. Ignore the suggestion to patch your kernel, as it is not necessary.
My Promise ATA100 works fine using those procedures.
