loading sound module

i think one of the drivers mandrake8.1 has will work for my sound card... but i need to install a module... how?... i need the sound-slot-o module.... please help

Not sure what module you are talking about, but here is how you load a module. Say the module is named foo.o :

modprobe foo

(notice that it isn't named foo.o, just foo)

For sound, I think drake comes with sndconfig, a program that will set up your sound card for you.
