Hi
I am a new entrant to the world of linux and I just installed Redhat Enterprise linux 3 ws on my pc having win98se. during the installation sound card was detected but did not configured by kudzu. I tried everything and finally I had placed this line
modprobe ad1848 with io=530 irq=11 dma=0 soundpro=1 in /etc/rc.d/rc.local. now I am able to do playback of my music cds. But the sound recorder is not working. Iam unable to record.
My sound card is ISAPNPCMI8330 SOUND CARD. My system is PII300MHz,128MBRAM,CDROM drive and CDwriter,SIS6326AGP,Creative Modem Blaster. The sound card is working alright under win98se with full functionality.
I checked with cat /proc/isapnp. Here it shows that there is cmi8330 audio adapter but only logical device0 is active and all other logical devices are in active. The sound recorder program is not recording when i tried with microphone.
sndconfig tool is not available for me so i am unable to setup the configuration manually. I searched the install cds and couldnot find the tool. what exactly is the name of this rpm tool.
cmi8330 uses two devices. wss/mss for play back and sb16 for record. the wss portion is working but not sb16. i need to activate this sb16. But How?
