Ok. I was trying to install mandrake 9.2 and keep windows. In my noob haste I made the partition way too small ( 250 M instead of 2.5 G). Remembering that I know very little about linux, can someone tell me how to uninstall from the command line or what I have to do since the mandrake website shows very little in the way of uninstall without using its window'd program.

hmm.. donnow about this but if u got Windows XP cd and u can boot from it
you'll be propably able to format that partion what linux got.
Or then get in windows so u can get partitionmagic or some same kind of program and format that linux partion to ntfs and give it back to old partion.
Im not sure of this i havent before need to do that but i would try those
