can someone please tell me how can I control the root directory that ftp user can have access to. Like I want when MR1 ftps my machine the root directory that he gets on his ftp be /var/www not home/MR1.
Do I have to do this is ftpaccess file or somewhere else?

The default redhat ftp server can be controlled from linuxconf (in some rh distros you need to hit linuxconf-auth).
