The only place I can find it is on namesys's ftp, which is fscking slow!! Anybody know of a mirror (none are listed on their site...), or does anybody have a copy they've download that they'd be willing to upload somewhwere?
<rant>
Aaaurgh.... I can't even start the damn download! And for some reason, connecting to their ftp server from a console, the 'get' command gives a 'command not implemented' error.... :mad: :mad: :mad:

I can't see any patch for 2.4.3 at ftp://ftp.namesys.com/pub/reiserfs-for-2.4 . There only seems to be patches for kernel-2.4.2.
But on 2001-03-31 someone from the reiserfs mailinglist posted a patch for kernel-2.4.3.
You can download it here: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=reiserfs&m=98607042522440&w=2
or you can write me a mail so that I can send it to you as a mail attachment.

Yep, stiles is correct the latest 2.4.3 has reiser in place with small fix too.I would be carefull with the paches from reiserfs mailing list as some of them are untested or experimental and having reiserfs on / could render your box unoperable.
Get the new kernel and enjoy :) the reiserfs it provides,remember to get the latest reiserfs progs from ftp.reiserfs.org.Hope this helps.

I'm glad that 2.4.1 finally incorporated ReiserFS into the main kernel branch. I got bloody tired of waiting for patches.
I did run into one bit of trouble, though. My system was configured to automatically pass the "-y" argument to fsck during bootup, which caused the new ReiserFS version to spit out an ugly error during bootup. I turned that off and everything worked fine; I'm not sure how it got turned on in the first place.

There still seem to be problems with reiserfs and kernel-2.4.x . Following the articles in the reiserfs mailing every few days something is fixed.
We had tried to use reisers on one of our servers but the nfs mount on the clients caused a data lost. Since we do not necessarily need reiserfs we went back to ext2.
But if someone has a big raid system he will probably need reiserfs and to prevent data lost it will probably necessary to applay some fixes to the kernel source.
