Well as the subject suggests, I cannot find a way to tell the SBLive drivers in linux to use digital output instead of analog. This would just make my day if someone could help me solve this, or if they know, tell me. I am running Redhat 7.2 and it detects my drivers as Creative SBLive. I have analog sound through my headphones, but it would be nice to have surrond sound. I am using FPS2500 or somthing to that effect. The're digital at any rate. Any help or direction pointing on this topic would be greatly welcome. :) Thx

I hate to be the one to tell you this but Linux does not support digital output, yet.
As far as I know, this not only affects the SB Live but all sound cards with digital output. :(

I am using the digital output from my SB Live into the digital input to my Cambridge Soundworks speaker system :) on Mandrake 8.1.

How did you do that I have an SBLive 5.1 XGamer plugged into FPS2000 speakers also running Redhat 7.2. Did you set linux to use digital output or what. I know there are two ways to get digital output, the card that came with the speakers, and the Digital Out on the back of the card. I can't get the one that came with the speakers to work, because there is no place that it fits on the card. Thx

I've decided to switch to Mandrake 8.1, becuase I didn't really like Redhat, all the same my sound card still doesn't use digital sound in linux only analog. Can ANYONE help me? I'm sure someone knows.
