SiS 961+650 laptop modem problems

I´m using a gericom laptop with SiS 961 + 650 chipset. I´ve installed SUSE Linux personal 9.0 succesfully but my onboard modem (SmartLink 56k) does NOT work!
Yast2 finds a modem but i can´t edit the configuration (com-port,etc.)

I would guess the SmartLink 56k is a winmodem.

I do know with SuSE 9.0 Pro, that they do include a few winmodem rpm packages. The ltmodem rpm will be installed if you attempt to configure the modem through YaST as I did that at work where I have a GVC modem in my main desktop pc.

At home now and

rpm -qa | grep modem

shows that I have

km_smartlink-softmodem-2.7.9-89
km_hsflinmodem-5.03.03.L3mbsibeta02090500-134

installed. SMARTLINK ?? Ring a bell? :)
