I have recently thought about switchin to linux, I hav installed mandrake 8 before and really liked it but i am highly dependent on win apps eg photoshop, flash etc and dont particularly like the look of the GIMP, and then there's all my games...
how can i emulate this stuf and if i do what windows platform should i install, I've tried wine without success and win4lin is firstly way over my head and is pretty expensive 4 a full version or so i'm told

wat 2 do wat 2 do. any help would b great

If you don't like the look of GIMP, then you're out of luck. My suggestion would be to keep a Windows partition. Games aren't all that supported in Linux. Another path to look into would be Wine which allows for Windows emulation, but it's not perfect.

i concur with the first reply, setup your computer to dualboot Win & Linux, thats what i do, i have Win98se & Linux Redhat 7.1...

do you know how to partition your harddrive???

i use Partition Magic to make my disk partitions and it sure makes for a easy Linux install...
