I am thinking of ditching it... cannot get it working in 4.x, cannot find any docs in xfree86.org. ... someone told me it is not supported.... (although it is working fine in 3.3.6)
also did search on nvidia, and saw someone post something like "your card should work fine unless it is a stb velocity 128!!!!!
is this a fight i even want to get involved in, or should i get a new vidio card????

This is a TNT 1 card, the nv driver that comes with XFree86 4.0.3 should work unless there's some problems with the card that I don't know about. Have you tried it?
You can always buy a Geforce MX for like $60usd these days though and they definitely work very well with 4.0.3 including fast opengl support if you use nvidia's driver.

I don't know how to set it up in X, but it is not a TNT! It is the first nVidia 3D chipset - Riva 128. Oooooooooooooooold.

Mine works fine, choose riva 128 from the list. Make sure vid sync & refresh rates are valid to your monitor. The riva 128 uses generic SVGA server.
