I have downloaded the RPMs and installer files onto my hard disk for Redhat's beta release Wolverine. I made an installation disk and boot off it.

The installation started up and then asked me for installation method (local cdrom or hard disk). I selected "Hard Disk" and it then asked me for the location where the iso images are. I don't have the iso images!! I downloaded the RPMs and installer files. So what can I do now? I did try ignoring it and specifying the partition where the files aer but the installation program gave me a error saying cannot find the images.

Please don't ask me to download the iso images. I have already taken many hours to download the files.

Any advice?

the instructions on the RedHat site seem to suggest that (for RedHat 7, at least) you can use the RPMS u have downloaded, if they are in the right directories...

extract from the red hat site (http://www.redhat.com/)
----
"Downloading the RPMs and Installer Files

Create a directory named RedHat somewhere on a partition that Red Hat Linux can see (a DOS partition that is FAT16 formatted will work).

Within the RedHat directory, create two subdirectories: RPMS and base. Case matters, so name the directories exactly as you see here.

Download the entire contents of ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/current/i386/en/RedHat/RPMS into the RedHat/RPMS directory that you just created.

Download the entire contents of ftp://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/current/en/i386/RedHat/base into the RedHat/base directory that you just created."
----

then u can boot in using a floppy and instal the files, it would seem ... the deatils on the page are obviously more in depth :) The page is at : http://www.redhat.com/download/howto_download.html#rpms

Hope you get it to work :)

Thanks! I was following those instructions. That was why I was puzzled that the installation did not accept RPMS.

Any other ideas??

You could try contacting Redhat support to ask if the RPM installation that worked for RH7 will also work for Wolverine and if not, could they give you some advise on how to get the install to work.
