Hi everyone...

I'm an absolute newbie when it comes to linux, so please bear with me if I ask some stupid question.

I tried to install pine (a program for sending mail; found it at www.washington.edu/pine/). (http://www.washington.edu/pine/).)
You have to download pine.tar.gz, unzip it and then install it with ./build or something like that, but it all I get are errors...

I tried looking through the NHF's for one about installing a program, but I didn't find anything...

Can some one help?

Thanks

Pine is such a common program that your distribution probably has it in the CD somewhere. I would recommend searching around for the pine package that you can install using your package manager. What distribution are you using?

I use Mandrake, and found it on the cd. I guess it was a stupid question after all? (Sorry!)

Thanks a lot for answering so quickly
