proxy won't work

I connect through two different ISP's but the proxy for one of them is not accepted by the two browsers I use for Mandrake 7.2 ( Opera and Netscape) Could anyone suggest some different things to try. I've tried several combinations but nothing seems to work. Many thanks :confused:

not sure on this one but check and make sure that all the parameters are keyed in correctly and each browser is set to use a proxy. Also check out konqueror (it should come with Mandrake 7.2 if you installed KDE)

Jeep, I've done all those things, I've also checked with my ISP who hasn't come up with anything I haven't tried. Konqeror uses the settings that Netscape has and, therefore doesn't work either. I can't think of anything else to try.
