VM Ware

How exactly is VMWare on Linux? I plan to run Windows 2000 with it on RedHat 8, for a comp I'm building. My PC will be pretty powerful; I'm going to go with dual AMDs. But how much will the system be bogged down? I just need to run Word mainly.

It shouldnt slow down your system much considering you have dual amd.
In my own experience with an Intel HT proccessor, the virtual machine runs at an acceptible speed.

If thats all you need, then you probably will be better off with crossover office http://www.codeweavers.com

To just run word, wine should do fine.

I was also thinking about playing around with Adobe After Effects through VMWare too... But mainly it's just word. Thanks for the link for Crossover Office; I'll check that out.
