Haven't seen any posts on this in a little bit... How close is Ximian's Evolution to being a stable program?
It looks very, very sweet - but as I recall it had a glitch that caused it to accidentally delete all of your mail every now and again

Well, version 1.0 is supposed to be released sometime this fall. I'd keep checking the Ximian (http://www.ximian.org) site and wait for that.

Get it now!

It's in Beta 5. It's gotta be solid by now!

This is a quite little offtopic...

The thing that I don't like about evolution is that it creates the stupid ~/evolution directory.

Why does it do this? There are no files in that dir that I want to edit by hand. It should keep it's crappy debug files out of my face.

I have evolution installed on my computer but every time I start it up it creates that stupid dir. It annoys me so much that I always end up typing "rm -rf ~/evolution" right away.

Nautilus also puts crap in your directory.

Is it so hard for these guys to put a blinking period infront of their filenames?
