Hi Group:

I hope its okay to ask here as well as going to the CRUX mailing list. The community here often has a broad range of experience and a receptive attitude and I value it greatly. Thus I ask the following:

I've wanted very much to try CRUX Linux but I continue to have problems with iso that I've d/l'ed from mirrors and burned to cd-r. At different times I've downloaded Crux 1.2 and 1.3. When I boot up using the iso I've burned, the boot process appears to go normally, but then suddenly a kernel panic happens and cannot continue with installation.

The relevant system specs. are as follows:

AMD Athlon Thunderbird 800 Mhz
Asus A7V Mobo.
2 x 256 meg. RAM from Crucial.com (repeatedly tested with memtest boot disc and no errors noted).
Acer 12 x 8 x 32 CD-RW
IBM ATA 100 40 Gig. hard-drive.

I have previously used this computer with many other distros. such as: Slackware, Gentoo, RedHat, Debian, Vector, Yoper, Morphix, Gnoppix, Trustix. I haven't had a problem quite like this with any other distro. The MD5's check out and I can't think of what may be the problem.

I've burned a few iso discs from different mirrors and still the same.

If it would be helpful to post some of the text leading up to the Kernel Panic, please let me know.

Thanks for your time.
