You don't install it. You uncompress it and you run it.

From AMSN's site...

Installation

Download amsn-0_xx.tar.gz

$ tar xvzf amsn-0_xx.tar.gz

$ cd msn

$ ./amsn
or
$ wish amsn

If command wish is not found, you need to install tcl/tk packages (tcl & tk).

First you need to open the terminal or console or whatever you call it. This is the box where you type the commands in.

Then cd to the directory where you downloaded the amsn file. So ,if you downloaded it to say, /home/yourname/downloads ,you would type
cd /home/yourname/downloads
Then type tar xvzf amsn-0_xx.tar.gz
where" amsn-0_xx.tar.gz" is the name of the file you downloaded
then cd msn
then ./amsn

amsn should then open and you can log in.

Once you have got it running, you can create a shortcut for it on your desktop.

Hope this helps,

Ludwig
