Ive been using Linux for a while now, and while Ive been able to do most things Ive come across. Sometimes with great dificulty but normally I can get some information on how to actually do what I want. But not with this.

How to download and install a CVS version of the ALSA system.

So, I can follow the instructions on this page on how to get 5.1 on an nForce mobo.

http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/doc-php/template.php?company=Nvidia&card=nForce&chip=NM2360&module=intel8x0

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Nathan/THCi.

How do I get round this error?

sh build all
make: *** No rule to make target `include/version.h', needed by `include/sound/version.h'. Stop.

Also, when I try to do a make, i get this error:

configure: error: No linkable libasound was found.
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/thci/ALSA/alsa-utils'
make[1]: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop.
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/thci/ALSA/alsa-utils'

How do I get round this?

That's the thing about CVS it may or may not build a any givin time. First error i don't know. Second error looks like you have'nt installed alsa-libs yet.
