Well, itīs not something really special, for now it is only 2.4.15 with another name.Newer versions of 2.5.x will be available from kernel.org.

Keep in mind that kernel names containing odd numbers are always development versions. Stay with the even numbers if you want anything stable. (e.g. 2.4.8)

But anyway, every major release of the
Linus Kernel is some great news!

Well, there's a thread in G:OT on that but anyway just to clarify the numbering thing: If the second number is odd, it's a developement kernel. The third number is the patch level and whether it's even or odd it designates a stable version.

Yep. Only the second number counts.

e.g. 3.2.3 would be a stable version.
